Beatles Live at the BBC
Nothing Is Real

What cosmetic surgery was performed on Dezo Hoffman's original Beatles photographs before they adorned the cover of the 1994 "Live at the BBC" album?
Back Cover
Altered photo as used on back cover of "Live at the BBC" (top) with original back cover photo by Dezo Hoffman (bottom).

Here, all four Beatles have been transplanted to the front cover photo from their original position on the sidewalk closer to the street. Ringo's own artificially defocused head can even be seen to his immediate left on the retouched back cover photo! Various other parts of original Beatles have been altered or obscured by the digital cloning of adjacent surfaces.

In the original photo, the group is more spread out; Paul now overlaps Ringo and John has been superimposed over Paul. Fake shadows, more pronounced than those on the front cover, have also been added.
